Meet Aly. Our first PG Girl Profile -
June 2010

What are your favorite Pleasure Ground Sunglasses?
Hmm that's pretty tough, it'd have to be between the Soulstice and the Heiress
How was it shooting with and for Pleasure Ground?
It was fun, I modeled first and we went out to the beach and learned some lessons about shooting in the middle of the day... Then when I shot for Pleasure Ground we found some really great urban locations and had a great time drooling over the shiny red camero and hot shades

What are some of your favorite Pleasure Grounds (locations)?
My favorite Pleasure Ground is in funky urban environments, like San Francisco or downtown Portland, OR. I like to be able to run around the city during the day time, finding unique stores to shop in, or just shooting photo's of city life, then find a live band or show at night and go hang out with new people.
Tell me about being a photographer and a model?
Although I've always had a passion for it, being a professional photographer is something that sprouted from modeling. I would look at photo's of myself, taken by professional photographers, and I always thought of ideas on how they could've taken the picture differently. Since it's a unspoken rule that you just don't tell someone how to do their job, I figured I'd just become the photographer and put my idea's to good use! It's actually helped out tremendously that I've modeled, because now I know how to help my models get where I want them to be for my photograph, since I know how it feels to be on both sides of the camera. It has also guided me into a local photography group where I both model and shoot while teaching a workshop for new models who are learning the techniques and skills of modeling. Now that my photography career is taking off into full force I don't model as much as I'd like, but I try to squeeze a shoot or two in a month... sometimes just for fun :)

If you could go anywhere in the world right now where would it be and what would you do?
If I could go anywhere, I would like to go to...
Once some guys read this, they are going to be very interested, so let them all know, are you single?
Yes I am single at the moment, having the career that I do makes me a very busy woman, but I'm super independent, so it works for me.
If you are single what kind of guys do you go for? What's your type?
I don't know if I have a 'type' per say... I enjoy people who are active, adventurous, love every kind of music (even Jazz), appreciate art, laugh at each opportune moment, take in the beauty that the world has to offer, and loves to spend time with their family.

Any last parting words for your PG Girls fans?
These shades are so fly they'll make you wanna smack your mama! :)
So there you have it guys. Aly. Our first PG Girl Profile. Look for more in the very near future.

Behind
the Scenes of our 2009 Photo Shoot -
January 2009

We have a ton of fun at our photo shoots. It gives us a chance to
let loose and present our brand the way we want you to see it. Being local
to San Diego, it is only fitting that we use the beach and desert as our
backdrops. See what we get into to bring you the best images of our products.

Our
ASR & Surf EXPO
Debut -
September 2008

Pleasure Ground Eyewear makes Action Sports Retailer
and Surf Expo Debut. These shows were a blast! Connecting back up with a
lot of people we have worked with before. We gave notice to the industry
that there is a new group in town but without all the goofy hype. People
were pretty stoked on our product and brand approach of keeping our branding
toned down and tasteful in a world of over exposure and hype. At Surf Expo,
Invodo, the new video hosting company, created some videos for us presenting
our products and brand. You can see them here www.invodo.com or in the product
pages for each style. Being the sle commentator is tough but i know the camera
loves me! We will have to get a superstar to present next time.
